Middlesex
Margaret E. Harrity, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she resided in Plainfield before moving to Middlesex in 1962. Margaret was a hostess for McDonald’s, Middlesex for 9 years before retiring in 1995, she previously was a homemaker who cared for her family. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Middlesex and volunteered for Our Lady of Mount Virgin School for many years prior. She enjoyed knitting and playing the piano and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
She was predeceased by a brother, Carl Wideman, a sister, Amelia Searfoss and a daughter-in-law, Lisa. Surviving are her beloved husband of 56 years, Eugene Harrity, Sr., three sons, John and wife Elizabeth of Hillsborough, Eugene Jr. and wife Karen of Middlesex and Kevin of Oak Creek, WI, five grandchildren, Eric, Lisa, Melody, Shawn and Alexandra and a sister, Mary Louise Marsh of Kingston, PA. Funeral services will begin 9:00 am , Monday at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Rd., Middlesex followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 600 Harris Ave., Middlesex. Interment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Visitation hours will be Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
