Daniel Mente, Sr.
Daniel Mente, Sr., 66, passed away peacefully Friday, March 5, 2010 at Somerset Medical Center. Born in Weatherly, PA, he was a life-long resident of Manville. Daniel was an avid NASCAR fan and a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Rebecca Phillips Mente in 2006, an infant son, Michael and his father, Michael.
Surviving are his three loving children, Daniel Jr. and wife Anita of Hillsborough, Ronald and wife Wendy of Bridgewater and Sandy Hohl, his cherished grandchildren, Robbie, Christian and William, his dearest mother, Mary Stritz Mente, and his five siblings, Anna Masessa of Middlesex, Mary Lambert of Neshanic, Michael Mente of Bolton, Miss, Connie Mente of Middlesex and Charles Mente of Somerville
Funeral services will begin 10:15 am, Monday at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Rd., Middlesex, NJ followed by a 10:45 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church. Committal will be private. Visitation hours will be Sunday from 2-5pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Somerset Medical Center Foundation, 110 Rehill Ave., Somerville, NJ 08876.
